In the past dog trainers have made us – as owners – feel on edge and to blame for our dogs behaviours. Whether or not Hilary believes this to be true she has never made me feel at fault or nervous during the sessions. Whilst training can at times inevitably feel like attempting to rub your head whilst tapping your tummy all at once – her patience and understanding instilled a sense of trust and allowed me the time to figure out the methods and what was being asked of me.
Hilary really took the time to listen to our concerns and did her best to get to what the root causes may be. We went back to basics and my husband and I were given hands on training tips and advice. My dog has a way to go but we already feel more in control and are encouraged by the early results we are seeing.

Nadine – Nadine’s Animal Adventures
We have a young, very energetic sprocker spaniel and it was really challenging to train him. But as soon as we started training classes with Hilary we noticed an improvement in Toby’s behaviour. She was able to tell straightaway what he needed and also gave us the confidence to carry on training him ourselves and doing things we could not do before. Toby loves gun dog training, especially sniffing things out, and we are sure he has learnt a lot from Matlock, Hilary’s lovely Duck Tolling Retriever. Because of Hilary’s training Toby now responds well to commands and his lead walking is transformed.
We cannot recommend Hilary highly enough. She is fantastic trainer with a natural love of dogs, a great personality and is very patient. I saw Hilary busy training on the Heath a few months ago and realised immediately I had found the right trainer for Aspen & I.
An unexpected bonus was her familiarity and love of gundogs, which has really helped with my sweet but high prey drive English Setter.
We have had a few training sessions together & I’m pleased to say I made a good call. She is friendly professional & enthusiastic & very easy to work with.
